Trauma »

EMDR is a central process utilized at our clinic. EMDR is currently the most studied method for the treatment for trauma: it has a stronger research base than other non-pharmaceutical interventions, and is based on empirical evidence with thousands of patients.  EMDR has proven an efficacious method for connecting with inner resources and for reprocessing traumatic material.  It appears that this technique assists in processing traumatic memory, resulting in enhanced integration and a more adaptive perspective.

The trauma response is a complex psychological response affecting mind and body.  Best outcomes are achieved when patients increasingly experience a sense of calm in the context of acceptance.  EMDR and other trauma therapy approaches support the nervous system to rebalance itself.  Healing from trauma is possible.
