While pursuing her Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in 2007 and working in a corporate environment, Chandra felt the negative impact of stress and turned to yoga for balance and healing. She was deeply affected by the immediate positive impact of yoga and chose to become a yoga teacher, completing her 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certification training in 2010. For the past 10 years, Chandra has been teaching yoga passionately and continues to study yoga to enhance her professional practice and to offer yoga therapy.
Chandra style of yoga creates a safe space for patients to explore their body and breath. Instruction is tailored to the unique needs of each individual and rooted in concentration and meditation. Postures are taught with an emphasis on safe alignment through consciously organized pathways of weight. At Health Psychology Sacramento, patients are encouraged to anchor their practice in breath to create steadiness and ease in every pose, rather than to “win” the pose. Patients are supported to explore their personal edge mindfully through a practice of presence and self-inquiry in the service of transformation and healing.
