Weight Loss for Life — a Real Life Effort

 

 

When we began offering our weight loss program 3 years ago, I wanted to make sure it worked.  At the time I weight 180 lbs on a 5.4 foot frame.  I was marginally obese and 55 yrs old.  Medically, I had high blood pressure (~150/80), high LDL, and a fasting glucose level of 120-130, beginning stages of diabetes.  In May of 2010 I started our Weight Loss for Life Diet and had lost 40 lbs by the middle of August.  I had gone from a size 14 to a size 4.  I felt great; it had been easy! I felt light and years younger.

Now 2014: I had kept my weight off, until this summer and fall, vacationing in Europe, eating out a lot, and then of course, the Holidays. … On January 1, 2014 I weight in at 154.8 lbs and felt the need to slim down.  I started to go on our diet program again.  This blog will document my weekly progress.  This time I intend to hit my target weight of 130 lbs.  Let’s see how long it will take me to lose 25 lbs.

WEEK 1

  • 1.7.2014 at 149.2 lbs — 5.6 lbs in the first week.
  • … no cravings, no hunger feelings, no prob!

WEEK 2

  • 1.14.2014 – 147.8
  • … I cheated last night with Champagne, and did not lose an oz for 2 days.  Total for 2 weeks of weight loss: 7 lbs.  Not bad at all.  I am also already sleeping better: easier falling asleep and staying asleep; I feel lighter and have more of a spring in my step.
